Artist Journey: Meet Bert Fowler

Artist Journey: Meet Bert Fowler

You see, for 15 years, I was immersed in the world of art as a Creative Director — working closely with some of the most celebrated museums and galleries in the world. It was an incredible chapter: rich in collaboration, creativity, and global cultural exchange. But over time, I began to feel something deeper calling. A quiet pull toward creating something more personal. More instinctive. More mine.

That moment of change came with two life-shifting events: becoming a father and moving to the Devon coast. Welcoming my first child into the world changed everything — grounding me in a new kind of love and purpose. At the same time, relocating to the sea and countryside brought me closer to nature’s rhythms. The rolling hills, rugged coastline, and gentle pace of Devon became my daily inspiration, my muse, and my sanctuary. It was here that I began to truly listen to my own creative voice — not through a client brief or campaign, but through the lens of instinct, memory, and joy.

Rooted in Nature, Refined in Form

I've always been fascinated by the natural world. Not just in how it looks, but how it feels. The elegance of a heron, the playful grace of a seal, the poetry of coastal landscapes — they all speak to something ancient and essential in us.

My work is about more than depicting these subjects. It’s about distilling their spirit. I use minimalist lines, bold shapes, and curated colour to evoke not just form, but feeling — an emotional shorthand that invites people to see the familiar in new ways.

Each piece I create is an exploration: of balance, simplicity, and story. Art, for me, is about connection — to place, to nature, to each other.

Where Art Meets Story

I explore art across multiple disciplines — from murals to textiles, ceramics to canvas. My signature style blends refined line work with a bold, contemporary palette, offering a fresh, soulful take on modern British art.

Through both personal works and commissioned projects, I help people bring art into their spaces in a way that’s thoughtful, joyful, and deeply connected to who they are. Whether it’s a bespoke mural, a private commission, or a statement piece for a design project, each work is crafted with intention and care.

Recognised & Collectable

I’m proud that my work has received national recognition — featured in publications like The Guardian, Metro, The Observer, Coast Magazine, Devon Life, and Mollie Makes. My artworks now live in homes, galleries, and collections across the UK, Europe, and the US.

But at the heart of it all is something very simple: a love for creating art that makes people feel something — joy, calm, wonder, nostalgia.

Let’s Make Something Beautiful

Whether you’re a collector, curator, interior designer, or someone simply seeking to bring more beauty into your space, I invite you to explore my world.

Experience the art of living beautifully.
