ABOUT STUDIO BERT

What began as a sketch by the beach, has blossomed into an arty adventure, that's making waves. Artist designed and British made, with a signature line art style. Joyful, bold designs inspired by nature and the ocean. Beautiful, well-made things, handcrafted with originality, love and sustainability in Devon, England.

THE STORY BEHIND THE BRAND

It all started with a pop-up stall at Dartmouth Regatta - and yippee, people loved it! From there, we transformed the old fishmonger's into our creative nook. Now, our gallery in dreamy Dartmouth is celebrating it's seventh year.

Who are we? Bert Fowler is at the heart of our brand, a contemporary artist and interior designer, whose bold, vibrant line art is inspired by the beauty of nature and the ocean. His designs bring joy to everyday living with their simple, captivating style.

From our ink-splattered Devon studio and gallery to collaborations with talented artisan friends, we create heirloom-quality, British-made products using sustainable materials—because there’s no Planet B. We’re always dreaming up new ideas, seeking out more beautiful collaborations and we currently work in paper, ceramics, textiles, metals and wood.

We also take on bespoke projects from immersive takeovers and large scale murals to private commissions for custom art and interior design projects too. You might have seen our work in The Guardian, Coast, Mollie Makes, The Observer—or perhaps brightening a beautiful home.
